Hello! I’m Samantha Palmer, an experienced and dedicated psychologist based on the Gold Coast. I’m known for my relaxed yet compassionate approach to supporting children, teens, and their families — and a little less known for my love of dog cuddles and sunny days.
My practice is deeply informed by an interest in neurodivergence, and I’ve completed extensive professional development in the areas of Autism, PDA, ADHD, and specific learning differences. I understand the sense of overwhelm that can arise for families beginning their neurodivergent journeys, and I aim to provide support that spans from assessment through to ongoing care. Throughout this process, parents and caregivers remain central to the therapeutic relationship, with open communication and collaboration essential to building and maintaining a cohesive and connected family dynamic.
Beyond this, I work with young people experiencing anxiety, depression, school or social challenges, and those navigating significant life changes. My therapeutic style is trauma-informed and integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Systems Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
At the heart of my work is a focus on the nervous system and emotional regulation, drawing inspiration from the insights of Mona Delahooke, Ross Greene, and Dan Siegel. I tailor every session to the unique needs of each child and family, adapting as circumstances evolve and priorities shift, always with the goal of fostering connection, confidence, and growth.
Whether you’re seeking guidance, assessment, or ongoing support, I’m here to help your child — and your family — feel understood, connected, and supported.
